While looking through my Facebook feed the other day, I came across an image in which someone had written Jesus’ Obituary. (Please click here to view the image.) It was a timely reminder of all the works Jesus did, while he was physically on earth, in the lead up to Good Friday and ends with the following:
“In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that everyone try to live as Jesus did and believe in Him.“
What the obituary doesn’t continue on to say, is that Jesus doesn’t remain in the tomb. He raises again on the 3rd day, which we celebrate as Easter Sunday.
Jesus rose from the dead and will be with us in spirit each day of our lives. He is our guide and our example of how to live our lives.
Jesus death on the cross was God’s way of showing that he has forgiven us our sins and that only through sacrifice can we truly show our love to one another.
"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16
